My friend Cleve turned me on to Derek Webb last month while at Annual Conference. Derek is a prophetic voice in the church today and challenges me with his lyrics. This song is about the Church. How often I have been guilty of whoring out God’s bride. The words are poignant and powerful and do not pull punches. The name of the song is Wedding Dress.

wow…
That’s probably my favorite Derek Webb song.
Have you been to noisetrade.com? You can download his latest album (and his wife’s latest album) for free, or pay what you want.
Josh-
Thanks. Yeah, I was there yesterday and downloaded the new cd.
The line that gets me on this song everytime is: I have one hand in a pot of gold and the other in your side. Ouch.
peace,
Chad

This is geat. Thanks for sharing it.
Mike – thanks for dropping by. Nice blog you have, btw. Upper Room…..are you a Methodist by chance? I ask only because we Methodists have an Upper Room publication that goes out and it reminded me of that.
peace,
Chad
